The National Polytechnic School of Yaoundé (abbreviated ENSPY) was founded on June 4, 1971 with the objectives of training engineers and strengthening research for the emergence of Cameroon. It is a component of the University of Yaoundé I. Located in the Ngoa Ekelle district, it provides training for design engineers. By 2015, it had trained more than 3,300 engineers. Originally it trained works engineers (bac +3) and design engineers (bac +5), thereafter it only trains design engineers in the following sectors: civil engineering (building and public works , urban engineering), computer engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, telecommunications engineering and mechanical engineering.
